On 29th March, 2023, Lok Sabha passed the Competition (Amendment) Bill, 2022.  It is noteworthy that the Bill introduces an additional criteria of 'deal value threshold' to notify M&As. It also introduces a new settlement and commitment regime in antitrust proceedings. It gives recognition to 'hub-and-spoke' cartels and also provides for additional leniency provisions for parties.
