On the recommendations of the GST Council, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs released a notification to empower Competition Commission of India (CCI) to examine anti-profiteering issues under the Goods and Services Act. This shall come into force from 1st December, 2022. CCI replaces the National Anti-Profiteering Authority and will take over its functions.
