CCI organizes Roadshow on Competition Law

A Roadshow on Competition Law was organized, jointly by CCI and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), with Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) being the implementation partner, to advocate compliance with Competition Law.

Speaking at the occasion, Secretary, MCA, Mr. Injeti Srinivas noted that the system needs to be made better accessible to those who suffer anti-competitive practices. Also, there is a need to hardwire competition into our business philosophy and policy framework.

Highlighting the contribution of CCI in last ten years, he said that it has made a demonstrative effect against the abuse of dominance; taken care of anti-competitive practices by punishing cartels and brought a preventive system in form of regulatory combinations.

Speaking at the occasion, Chairman CCI, Mr. Sudhir Mittal enumerated various measures taken by CCI for making regulations more investor friendly and attuned the process to ease of doing business. He also recounted the speedy decisions by CCI, especially in M&A cases, where the average time taken is 17 working days.

During the panel discussion, Former Chairman CCI, Mr. Dhanendra Kumar recalled the impressive progress made by CCI in disposal of M&A matters and inculcating compliance culture where IICA has been designated as Nodal Agency.

During the day, there were open-house sessions, display of various kiosks and screening of films for the participants from industry, legal field, academics, law students and relevant stakeholders.
