CCI introduced new rules under the  Competition Act 2023 to ensure legal certainty and optimal regulatory balance, according to CCI Chair Ravneet Kaur. Key changes include criteria for combination exemptions, minimum asset and turnover thresholds, and the deemed approval route. Additionally, the CCI (Combinations) Regulations, 2024 replaced the 2011 regulations, streamlining merger processes and enhancing competition law enforcement. It is under effect now.
