CCI, in an order dated 9^th November, has directed investigation against Intel Corporation, holding that there exists a prima facie case of violation of S. 4 of the Act for abusing its dominant position in market by restricting production of servers.

It was alleged that Intel refused to provide complete reference design files to Informant and it has prevented and precluded them from designing/manufacturing its own server-boards.

CCI held that:

• Intel is dominant in the relevant market for processors for servers.
• Intel’s conduct has prima facie, limited and restricted the production of servers and the market, and has also limited technical/ scientific development of the servers.
