CCI has approved $80 bn deal of Linde and Praxair with certain modifications to eliminate AAEC in some relevant markets in India.

CCI has proposed the Divestments of the following by sale and transfer to independent entities:

• Linde India’s entire shareholding in Bellary Oxygen Co. Pvt. Ltd.
• Praxair’s three on-site plants at Jamshedpur and two cylinder filing stations at Asansol and Kolkata.
• Linde’s on-site plant JSW- 2 located at Bellary, Karnataka and two cylinder filing stations at Hyderabad and Chennai

CCI has also held that the remedies aim to eliminate the substantial overlap in terms of presence of the Parties in affected regions and for establishment of independent competitors or strengthening of the existing ones by ensuring that they have an integrated presence in markets for industrial gases encompassing tonnage, bulk and cylinder businesses.
