Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has won the contract to set up India's first multimodal logistics park in Chennai. It is a proposed state-of-the-art freight-handling facility with access to various modes of transport. The Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways stated in a release that the estimated cost of the project under PPP model is Rs 1424 crores. This is the first of 35 MMLPs the transport ministry is developing under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan to provide multimodal connectivity to various economic zones.
