Mahindra & Mahindra has entered into a joint venture with Ford Motors to manufacture and sell Ford brand vehicles in India and other emerging markets. M&M will hold 51% stake in the new venture while Ford will hold the remaining 49% stake. Ford will transfer its India operations to the joint venture, including its manufacturing plants and employees. M&M will invest up to Rs 1,400 crore to expand the operation of the company. The transaction is expected to be completed by mid of 2020 and is subject to the approval of the Competition Commission of India.
