MCA mandates private companies to dematerialise securities till Sep'24

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has mandated private firms except small companies* and government companies to dematerialise their securities before September 30, 2024. Post this date, no private company can issue or buy-back securities except in demat form. This would give a boost to transparency and growth in the financial markets, and enhance investor protection. 
 
*capital of under Rs 4 crore and turnover of less than Rs 40 crore
