According to Global Economic Prospects 2019 report by World Bank, India's GDP is expected to grow at 7.3% in 18-19, and 7.5% in 2019 and 2020, attributing it to an upswing in consumption and investment.  

It will also continue to be the fastest growing major economy in the world.

Domestic demand has strengthened as benefits of GST harmonization and bank recapitalization take effect.

It is also reported that India leaves China behind in economic growth forecast as China’s growth is expected to be 6.5% as against India's 7.3% in 2018. Further, the growth for China is projected to slow down to 6.2% in 2019 and 2020.
