India to spend US$ 1.4 trillion on infrastructure in next five years: Nirmala Sitharaman

FM Nirmala Sitharaman while addressing the Annual Meeting of the IMF has announced the Govt’s plans for investing USD 1.4 trillion on infrastructure over the next five years. She has also reiterated steps taken to enhance the infrastructure investment by launching innovative financial vehicles like Infrastructure Debt Funds (IDFs), Real Estate Investment Trust (REITs), Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) also reposing the framework for municipal bonds.
