The government reconstituted the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister for a period of another two years. Mr. Sajjid Chenoy, from JP Morgan and Ms. Ashima Goyal of Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research has been appointed as the new part-time members. Full-time members include Mr. Bibek Debroy of Niti Aayog and Mr. Ratan Watal with Mr Bibek Debroy as the Chairman of the EAC-PM. The EAC-PM is an independent body constituted to advise the government, especially the prime minister, on economic and related issues.
