During PM Modi’s visit to the US, India’s Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) and America’s General Electric (GE) announced an MoU to jointly produce fighter jets for the Indian Air Force. Only a select few countries manufacture jet engines, and this deal will give a boost to India’s defense sector and Indo-US ties.
