Aatmanirbhar 3.0: FM announces stimulus of Rs 2.65 lakh crores
FM has announced 12 new initiatives under the new Aatmanirbhar Bharat 3.0 stimulus package of Rs 2.65 lakh crore to boost the economy.
- Aatmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana for creation of new jobs. The new employees hired by EPFO-registered organisations will get benefits during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- ECLGS for MSMEs, MUDRA borrowers & individuals (loans for business purposes), extended till 31.3.2021.
- PLI scheme worth Rs 1.46 lakh crore offered to 10 sectors. Rs 1.5 lakh crore has been earmarked across sectors, for the next five years.
- Rs 18,000 crore over budget estimate allocated for PM Awaas Yojana Urban to help ground 12 lakh houses and complete 18 lakh houses. This will also create additional 78 lakh jobs and improve production and sale of steel and cement.
- Performance security on contracts in the construction/infrastructure sector will be reduced to 3 per cent vs 5-10 per cent.
- Tax relief for developers and home buyers for houses up to Rs 2 crore.
- Rs 65,000 crore fertilizer subsidy to the farmers. Additional Rs 10,000 crore provided for PM Garib Kalyan Rozgar Yojana, & additional Rs 3,000 crore to EXIM Bank.
- Rs 10,200 crore additional budget stimulus for capital & industrial expenditure on defence equipment, industrial infrastructure and green energy.
- Rs 900 crore R&D grant for development of COVID-19 vaccine.
