And they should indeed be in the news - but for reasons other than the spat over tackling pollution of the Yamuna. Surfactants forming a key segment of hygiene and healthcare policies must sustain industry and its key inputs. The segment being price-sensitive, industry usually absorbs increased costs through changes in product composition, packaging or size.
