India’s telecom growth story post-NTP-99 is considered a huge success story of reforms, leading to a massive growth in tele-density and economic activity. Even the poorest, and in remote areas, would have a cell phone, reprioritising the NTP-99 slogan to ‘Roti, kapda, mobile aur makaan’.
