Indian markets have been volatile in the last few months because of various factors, even when global peers like Nasdaq and the Dow Jones Industrial Average have kept their outperformance intact. The BSE Sensex index fell 11 per cent between its recent high of 85,571.85 on 27 September to 76,190 as of 24 January. Market experts cite portfolio rebalancing by global investors, concerns over Indian market valuations, and the flow of funds to other markets as some of the major reasons behind this fall.
