The logistics industry is the lubricant for the moving wheels of the economy. It adds to efficiencies across the value chain, in manufacturing and trade, saving costs and time, making exports competitive, attracting FDI, creating jobs and accelerating economic growth. However, India ranks 44th in the World Bank's 2018 Logistics Performance Index (LPI) across 160 countries, with Germany at the top.
